About this Role

Mercer Technical Services, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing logistics activities that support large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects throughout North America and internationally. The Project Manager will work closely with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

What You'll Do
  • Manage logistics planning and execution for infrastructure, energy, industrial, and capital projects.
  • Develop project execution plans, transportation strategies, schedules, and budgets to support project milestones.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments utilizing truck, rail, ocean, and air transportation.
  • Manage project cargo, oversized/over-dimensional shipments, heavy haul transportation, and specialized equipment moves when required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, construction, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Manage import/export documentation, customs clearance, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements for international shipments.
  • Partner with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, terminals, warehouses, and other logistics providers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project costs, schedules, risks, and key performance indicators while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare project reports, status updates, forecasts, and client communications.
  • Resolve transportation, documentation, scheduling, and operational issues while minimizing project impacts.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Mercer safety standards, environmental requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project execution, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • 6+ years of experience in project management, logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or industrial construction.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, multiple priorities, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international transportation, import/export processes, and logistics operations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to build relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP, TMS, or project management software is a plus.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure and/or heavy industrial project logistics (large scale transport, oversize/OD shipments, specialized handling).
  • Experience managing freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third‑party logistics providers.
