About the Role We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Project Logistics Manager to lead the planning, execution, and operational delivery of complex domestic and international project cargo movements. This role is ideal for a logistics professional with strong freight forwarding expertise in oversized cargo, breakbulk, heavy lift, industrial equipment, oil & gas, energy, mining, EPC/EPCM, or infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end project logistics execution, carrier procurement, client relationships, vendor management, cost control, risk mitigation, and operational excellence for high-value and time-sensitive shipments.

Key Responsibilities Project Logistics Execution Manage full lifecycle project cargo shipments from bid stage through final delivery. Coordinate multimodal transportation solutions including: Ocean freight (FCL/LCL/Breakbulk/Charter) Air freight (scheduled and charter) Heavy haul trucking Rail movements Barge and inland waterways Last-mile delivery Develop transportation plans for oversized, overweight, and complex cargo. Coordinate route surveys, permits, escorts, lifting plans, crane requirements, and delivery sequencing.

Oversee cargo handling requirements, packing specifications, lashing, securing, and load engineering. Commercial / Client Management Act as primary client point of contact for assigned projects. Support RFQs, tenders, and bid submissions with operational and commercial input.

Build logistics solutions aligned with client schedules, budget constraints, and risk requirements. Provide project updates, milestone reporting, exception management, and executive communication. Identify opportunities for margin improvement and value-added services.

Procurement & Vendor Management Source and negotiate rates with: Ocean carriers Charter brokers Heavy haul operators Crane providers Customs brokers Warehousing partners Specialized project vendors Evaluate supplier performance and ensure service reliability. Establish contingency options for critical moves. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with: Customs regulations Dangerous goods requirements Transport regulations Trade compliance obligations Health & safety requirements Client site protocols Conduct operational risk assessments for complex movements.

Develop contingency plans for schedule disruptions, weather delays, permit issues, and capacity constraints. Ensure documentation accuracy including: Bills of lading Commercial invoices Packing lists Certificates Export/import filings Dangerous goods declarations Financial Management Manage project P&L performance. Control operational costs and maximize profitability.

Validate supplier invoices and client billing accuracy. Monitor accruals, margin performance, and cost variances. Support forecasting and project financial reporting.

Internal Leadership Coordinate with operations, customs, warehousing, transport, procurement, and sales teams. Mentor operations coordinators and junior project staff. Drive operational excellence, service delivery, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications 7+ years of freight forwarding experience. 3+ years in project logistics / heavy lift / industrial cargo. Strong experience managing complex international shipments.

Knowledge of: Breakbulk shipping Chartering Heavy haul transport Customs compliance Incoterms Multimodal transportation DG / hazardous cargo requirements Experience with oversized / overweight cargo execution. Strong carrier and vendor negotiation skills. Proven client-facing account management experience.

Excellent financial and commercial acumen. Ability to manage multiple concurrent high-value projects. Preferred Qualifications CIFFA / CCS / P.Log / APICS or equivalent certification

Experience in energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial manufacturing, or EPC environments. Knowledge of international customs and trade compliance. Experience with freight forwarding TMS / ERP platforms.
