Job Summary
This position provides the operational (program and student), quality (program integrity and outcomes) and promotional aspects of the Nursing Anesthesia Program.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the Nursing Anesthesia Program Operations including the functions of:
Provides administrative support to the Program Director for program-related items.
Collaborates with the Program Director and provides administrative support for the assigned Program and Admissions Committees. Duties include attending the meetings, creating the agendas, preparing handouts, transcribing minutes, distributing minutes to committee members, reviewing student applications for minimum requirements and completeness, scheduling candidates and handling the logistics for interviews, and maintaining applicant and committee files.
Maintains high-level knowledge of the Nursing Anesthesia Program and communicates effectively with internal and external customers, including the public.
Manages information related to the assigned program including databases (Degree Works, QuickBase, Excel), student/applicant information software (Banner, Crystal Reports, WebExtender, Nursing CAS) as well as maintains filing system for programmatic documents.
Creates program-related materials and participates as the program recruitment representative as required.
Provides academic program support to include participating in internal recruitment events (informational sessions, CON Tours), manages program communications, coordinates new student orientation, and ensures completion of program paperwork for graduation.
Responsible for the Nursing Anesthesia Program Quality including the functions of:
Establish priorities and is proactive in developing new ideas and procedures for process improvement for the Nursing Anesthesia Program.
Develops systems to collect and manage student program data in an efficient manner to provide for easy retrieval of real-time information.
Monitors and tracks program outcomes and licensure/certification results.
Monitors and reports student/graduate outcomes such as licensure, board certifications, scholarly activities, and employment.
Manages, analyzes, and reports program data requested from CON and university entities.
Responsible for the Nursing Anesthesia Students including the functions of:
Works with College of Nursing Recruitment and Retention Coordinator, Program Director, and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs to develop and implement strategies to recruit a qualified and various student population and reach enrollment goals.
Coordinates advising assignments for students enrolled in the program.
Maintains student required information for compliance (i.e. immunizations; TB; licensure; ACLS, BLS, and PAL certifications, etc.) and clinical placements.
Coordinate new student membership with AANA (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and monitor progress.
Coordinate student enrollment, program completion progress and the upload of final documentation including transcripts with NBCRNA (National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists); create NBCRNA student application for required Self Evaluation Exam (SEE), program completion, and the National Certification Exam (NCE).
Establishes and maintains access to the clinical reporting system which tracks student clinical rotations, demographics, and clinical progressions.
Responsible for the Nursing Anesthesia Faculty including the functions of:
Provides and ensures resource support for program faculty.
Other duties:
Participates in the College of Nursing Staff Council meetings and activities.
Serves on College of Nursing committees.
Participates and assists with College of Nursing events and ceremonies as outlined in CON Standard Operating Procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with three years of related experience in an academic setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred Experience
Experience with Banner, PeopleSoft and OU Campus.
Previous experience in support or management of a Nurse Anesthesia or other graduate level program.
Previous experience in academic or health sciences setting.
Knowledge of Augusta University's policies and procedures or similar practices.
