Overview

The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing logistics planning, optimization, and operations in efforts to reduce costs, improve delivery times, and support the inbound and outbound distribution of goods. This role will be responsible for all the steps involved in getting products from suppliers to customers. This role will establish and execute company strategy related to organizing, storing, and monitoring the distribution of goods to ensure product is picked, packed, and shipped in the correct quantities to the appropriate destinations in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning and control the flow of materials, products, services, and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery
  • Manage warehouse operations staff in the day-to-day activities of Value Added Services and Warehouse personnel
  • Maintain high levels of quality and customer service in the resolutions of escalated concerns related to transportation, logistics, distribution, or customer issues
  • Review and suggest changes to staff as needed to ensure the warehouse department is able to meet company goals and customer KPIs. This is accomplished through one on one and department meetings
  • Provide a cost effective and efficient freight in / out flow system supporting AIT inbound and outbound transportation requirements
  • Provide an effective warehousing system that delivers a high level of service to both external and internal customers. Identify opportunities within the affected areas and implement new solutions through project management protocols and elimination of constraints.
  • Maximize efficiencies and ensure process flow with warehouse employees, inbound and outbound operations, and cartage operations. This also includes client customer service on key warehouse accounts
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, and transport costs
  • Ensure safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures
  • provide guidance to warehouse teammates and deliver training on best practices and safe equipment operation
  • Participate in the interview process for potential candidate along with onboarding process of new teammates
  • Other duties and responsibilities as the business deems necessary

  • Must be familiar with domestic, international and cartage freight forwarding warehousing services
  • 3 - 5 Years Experience
  • Understand Warehouse Management Systems(WMS) and their capabilities
  • Manage a Departmental/Facility Profit and Loss(P&L) Statement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must possess clear written and verbal communications
