Logistics Manager

At Clearly Filtered, our mission is to help people live well, starting with the water they drink. We build high-performance filtration products backed by science and rigorous third-party testing, because trust isn't claimed, it's earned. Our technology is purpose-built to remove what others miss, so every person who finds us is genuinely better off for it.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to own the reliability and performance of Clearly Filtered's freight network, 3PL partnerships, and fulfillment operations. This is a high-ownership role for someone who builds systems, measures what matters, and brings solutions before problems escalate, combining hands-on global freight expertise with the analytical rigor and cross-functional instincts to get things done across a fast-moving organization.

This role is hybrid, based in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week. Please apply only if you're able to meet this requirement.

What You'll Do

Inbound Freight & Purchase Orders Keep inbound flow on time, on budget, and fully documented from origin to receipt.

  • Own end-to-end inbound freight across ocean, air, FTL, and LCL shipments from origin to 3PL receipt
  • Manage freight forwarder relationships, customs clearance, and trade compliance
  • Track landed costs and provide structured documentation for inventory reconciliation
  • Place and monitor purchase orders against the demand-driven purchase plan with accuracy and discipline
  • Maintain PO logs covering delivery timing, receipt confirmation, and discrepancy resolution
  • Proactively surface supply risks with recommended solutions

Outbound Fulfillment & 3PL Performance Manage the fulfillment network and hold 3PL partners to defined performance standards.

  • Own DTC parcel shipments, final mile delivery, and inventory transfers across the fulfillment network
  • Manage carrier relationships and ensure compliance with Amazon FBA/FBM, routing guides, and labeling standards
  • Build and own a structured 3PL scorecard covering cost per unit, on-time rates, accuracy, and billing
  • Drive root cause analysis and hold partners accountable through documented corrective action plans

Team Leadership & Warehouse Operations Directly lead the Warehouse & Fulfillment team and set the standard for how work gets done.

  • Directly manage and develop the Warehouse & Fulfillment team
  • Set clear performance expectations, deliver effective feedback, and build a team culture rooted in accuracy, throughput, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain warehouse organization, safety standards, and equipment readiness

Reporting & Process Own the data and SOPs that keep logistics operations visible, scalable, and continuously improving.

  • Own freight and 3PL performance reporting on a consistent cadence
  • Evaluate fulfillment and freight costs and bring optimization recommendations to leadership
  • Build, document, and maintain SOPs for all logistics and fulfillment workflows
  • Enforce vendor packaging, labeling, and compliance requirements on inbound shipments
What You Bring

Required

  • 5+ years in logistics, global freight, or supply chain operations in a DTC or consumer products environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing international inbound freight (ocean, air, road) including freight forwarder relationships, customs documentation, and landed cost management
  • Experience managing 3PL relationships with structured performance accountability, scorecards, SLA management, and corrective action
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable building cost comparison models, freight rate analyses, and performance reports independently
  • Proven solutions orientation, approaches constraints as problems to solve
  • Direct management experience leading a warehouse or fulfillment team

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Amazon FBA/FBM compliance requirements and inbounding processes
  • Experience with carrier rate negotiation and freight cost optimization
  • Exposure to 3PL network strategy evaluation, site selection, cost modeling, partner comparison frameworks
  • Experience with Shopify, ShipHero, Luminous, or comparable fulfillment platforms
  • Background in high-growth DTC or e-commerce operations
What Success Looks Like
  • Inbound freight arrives on time, within cost, and fully documented, no surprises to the supply plan
  • The fulfillment network operates reliably within SLA; performance is tracked, visible, and improving through structured scorecards
  • 3PL partners are managed to defined standards with documented corrective actions when gaps arise
  • POs are placed accurately and on time, executed against the supply plan
  • The Warehouse & Fulfillment team operates to clear standards without requiring escalation for routine issues
  • Freight and fulfillment costs are tracked, benchmarked, and continuously optimized
What We Offer
  • Hybrid work flexibility with 9am - 4pm working hours
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid holidays, floating holiday, and PTO
  • The opportunity to be part of a growing brand focused on helping people live healthier lives

Our interview process is designed to help us get to know you beyond your resume while giving you a clear picture of the role, team, and our work environment.

The process typically includes:

  • An initial video interview with a member of our People team
  • A second video interview with the hiring manager focused on logistics expertise, operational judgment, and problem-solving
  • A potential technical assignment to assess your role-specific skills and problem-solving approach
  • A final onsite interview with team members and cross-functional partners
  • We aim to keep the process thoughtful, communicative, and respectful of your time!
