Job description

We are partnered with a fastโ€‘growing cosmetics company to help them bring on a forwardโ€‘thinking COO to drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence. You will play a critical role in providing leadership during an exciting time in their growth journey, fostering longโ€‘term, sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage operational teams, including supply chain, packaging, quality assurance, project management, and logistics/warehousing.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish and implement the companyโ€™s strategic vision.
  • Partner with department leads to evaluate performance, make financial recommendations, and support budget management.
  • Work closely with product development to ensure projects meet budget and timeline objectives and assess supplier performance.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements, including reorganization or efficiency enhancements.
  • Oversee inventory management to meet targets for daysโ€‘onโ€‘hand and minimize aging stock.
  • Direct the entire product delivery lifecycle, ensuring onโ€‘time distribution center shipments and achieving fill rate goals in partnership with commercial teams.
  • Develop costโ€‘effective solutions to optimize profits while balancing risks and growth opportunities.
  • Lead the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process and manage monthly reviews with crossโ€‘functional teams.
Governance Responsibilities:
  • Manage the budget for all operational areas.
  • Establish margin targets for new products.
  • Approve procurement activities and monitor inventory levels.
  • Maintain high fulfillment rates, targeting 97% or above.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an operations leader or in a similar leadership role in a small to midโ€‘sized consumer goods business.
  • 15+ years of experience in growthโ€‘focused organizations.
  • Strong track record of brandโ€‘building and operational leadership, with expertise in supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Experience in the consumer goods or beauty industry preferred, with knowledge of retail distribution, international sourcing, and partnerships.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and negotiation skills.
