Job description

The Material Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations associated with plant material flow on the production floor. This role directly supports daily production, this individual acts as the centralized resource for the Plant Production Operations Centers, Safety, Quality, Engineering and the Material Logistics Management (MLM) Production Control Operations team. The Material Operations Manager is also responsible for directly managing a cross-functional team of salaried non-bargaining employees, accountable for employee hiring, training, performance and retention. The Material Operations Manager participates in and promotes lean Stellantis Production Way activities.
  • Responsible for Manpower Management including Salary Employee Hiring, Training, Performance, Stellantis Production Way Involvement and Retention
  • Responsible for leading material throughput improvement initiatives and downtime mitigation activities
  • Participates in Stellantis Production Way Lean Management activities for the Logistics Customer Service (LCS) Pillar including use of lean tools and methodologies and the completion of kaizen projects
  • Leads Safety, Quality and Cost initiatives set forth by the Plant and Corporate
  • Interacts with all levels of the organization including bargaining and non-bargaining hourly and salary employees as well as executive leadership

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment focused in production control, supply chain or material handling
  • Ability to demonstrate lean manufacturing knowledge and application
  • Ability to direct the workforce and deliver results on Key Performance Indicators
  • Experience in resolving employee conflicts with professionalism and integrity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Stellantis Production Way Logistics Pillar knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic layout work in AutoCAD
  • Experience Working in a Unionized Environment
