Position Overview
We are seeking a Experienced Security Systems Integration Technician to join our growing technical team. This role requires expert-level knowledge of intrusion alarm systems, access control, IP surveillance, networking fundamentals, and structured cabling. You will lead installation projects, mentor team members, and ensure every system is installed according to manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and New Age Group best practices.
You’ll represent our organization onsite with professionalism, technical confidence, and pride in delivering work that meets the highest quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Integration

  • Lead installation and commissioning of security systems including:
    • Access control
    • Video surveillance
    • Intercom systems
    • Intrusion alarms
    • Related IoT and low-voltage technologies
  • Install, program, and integrate hardware to manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Perform structured cabling tasks:
    • Fiber termination
    • Shielded and unshielded Ethernet termination
    • Patch panel termination
    • Rack dressing and cable management
  • Program Alarm systems onsite with support from the Installation & Service Manager (ISM) and Project Managers.
  • Conduct ULC Burglar and Fire Protective Signaling installation & maintenance.
  • Perform annual preventative maintenance and generate comprehensive service reports.
  • Update project drawings and documentation (model numbers, cable routes, device heights, etc.).
  • Collaborate with remote technicians for troubleshooting and advanced support.
 
Project Execution
  • Work with the ISM and Project Managers to complete installations, service calls, and commissioning activities on schedule.
  • Conduct site surveys and recommend installation methods aligned with project requirements.
  • Provide field feedback regarding product performance and installation challenges.
 
Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor junior technicians through hands-on support and skills development.
  • Ensure team members follow safety requirements, best practices, and installation standards.
  • Lead installation teams and supervise quality control onsite.
  • Provide detailed performance feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
 
Warehouse & Logistics Support
  • Assist with equipment preparation and staging for projects.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and documentation.
  • Keep warehouse and vehicles organized and compliant with company standards.
 
Skills, Education & Experience Required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience installing and commissioning security and low-voltage systems in North America.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Access control
    • IP surveillance
    • Intrusion alarms
    • Networking fundamentals
    • Structured cabling
  • Experience terminating fiber, shielded/unshielded Ethernet, and dressing racks to professional standards.
  • Ability to read drawings, interpret schematics, and update documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical troubleshooting ability.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with systems such as DSC, ICT Protégé, Axis and typical networking components (switches, patch panels, routers).
  • Valid Ontario G-Class driver’s license with clean abstract.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights (with training).
