The Role
The Warehouse Operations Associate is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse, stockroom, and mailroom functions to support day-to-day operations. This role ensures materials, inventory, and mail are received, processed, stored, and distributed accurately, safely, and in compliance with established procedures. Assignments may vary based on business need and may include lead or equipment-focused responsibilities.
What You'll Do
  • Attend team or operational meetings and follow daily work assignments
  • Receive, verify, and process incoming materials or mail against documentation
  • Stow, store, stack, palletize, or route materials and mail to designated locations
  • Prepare materials, packages, or mail for outbound shipment or distribution
  • Operate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, powered equipment, or mailroom machinery, as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records related to inventory, mail volumes, or postage usage
  • Identify and report discrepancies, damage, or deterioration
  • Follow all safety, security, USPS (as applicable), and internal operational procedures
  • For designated lead assignments, coordinate tasks and monitor completion to support workflow efficiency

Role Assignment Examples

Warehouse Specialist
  • Responsibilities: Attend meetings; verify materials against receiving documents and report discrepancies; route materials to storage locations; stow/stack/palletize per guidelines; conduct inventory and report deterioration or damage; prepare materials for shipment; operate hand or power trucks.

Stock Clerk Lead
  • Responsibilities: Attend meetings; receive assignments from management; delegate tasks and monitor progress; receive, stow, and issue materials; verify incoming shipments; ensure stock conforms to specifications and is properly stored.

Mailroom Equipment Operator
  • Responsibilities: Operate mailroom equipment (postage meters, folder/inserters, addressing machines, envelope sealers, sorters); prepare outgoing mail and packages; sort and distribute incoming mail; maintain records of postage and volumes; ensure equipment maintenance; follow USPS and internal procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to complete required documentation or records
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and adherence to scheduled work hours
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, operational guidelines, and workplace policies

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a warehouse, stockroom, mailroom, inventory, or materials-handling environment
  • Experience operating equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, power equipment, or automated processing machines (as applicable)
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems, shipping/receiving documentation, or mail-processing procedures
  • Experience working in a regulated, federal, or procedural-driven environment
  • Ensure compliance with USPS and internal mail-handling procedures

Physical Work Environment:
  • Able to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.).
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25-30 lbs. on occasion (document boxes, files, binders, and other items)
  • Able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • Able to work overtime including extended schedules during peak seasons.
