Job description

Job Title: Operations Supervisor – Warehouse & Distribution

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee end-to-end warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution and fulfillment environment in Balzac. You will lead a growing team of warehouse associates, ensure accurate inventory control, and drive efficient order fulfillment across receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and distribution activities. This role starts as an Operations Supervisor with strong potential to grow into an Operations Manager or General Manager position in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations across receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and distribution functions.
  • Lead and supervise a team of warehouse workers and forklift operators, initially around 10+ team members, with growth toward a team of 15–30 people.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control by monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage order fulfillment processes to ensure timely, accurate picking, packing, and shipment of products.
  • Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Excel to manage inventory, track orders, and produce operational reports.
  • Implement and maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards throughout the warehouse.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to optimize dock utilization and on-time delivery performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Train, coach, and develop warehouse staff to build a high-performing, engaged team.
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders to align warehouse operations with distribution and fulfillment requirements.
  • Ensure proper use and safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Support future scaling of the operation as team size and volume increase, maintaining smooth and reliable workflows.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of supervisor or manager experience in operations, warehouse, or distribution center environments.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience specifically within a warehouse, distribution center, or fulfillment operation.
  • Extensive experience in high-volume distribution operations and fulfillment environments.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Proven experience leading teams of 10 or more warehouse workers and forklift operators.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.
  • Experience using RF scanners for inventory and order management.
  • Demonstrated operations management and supervision skills in a distribution center setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, including coaching and team development.
  • Forklift certification and hands-on experience operating material handling equipment.

The position follows a regular day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The environment includes the use of Warehouse Management Systems, ERP systems, RF scanners, forklifts, and other material handling equipment, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and efficiency.
