Job description

Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Team Leader oversees daily logistics operations to ensure the timely, accurate, and safe handling of incoming and outgoing materials, parts, and finished goods in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role supervises a team of shipping/receiving clerks, lift truck drivers, and material handlers, ensuring that all shipping and receiving or warehouse processes comply with quality standards, inventory control procedures, and customer requirements. May be responsible to assure receipt raw material and keeping up date inventories and invoices in CMS System; provide material on time to production area. The Team Leader works closely with multiple teams to coordinate shipments, resolve inventory discrepancies, and support just-in-time (JIT) delivery. This is a 2nd Shift Position, starting pay is $24.00 / Hour plus shift premium.

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate and on-time processing.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including material verification, documentation, and system updates.
  • Lead, train, and coach team members in proper logistics, inventory, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ISO, IATF).
  • Monitor inventory movement and assist with cycle counts, audits, and root cause analysis of discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records in ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate logistics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of Shipping & Receiving experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience and ability to obtain certifications for equipment use, Lift Truck, Bendi, Tugger, Scissor Lift.
  • 2-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Past history of safe performance.
