About Us

Centric Brands is a leading lifestyle brand collective that designs, sources, markets and sells high quality products in multiple segments, including women's, men's and kid's apparel, accessories, entertainment and beauty. Centric Brands is focused on our customers and our brands that will drive the company's future growth. We are defined by innovation as we seize new opportunities and thrive in an environment informed by creativity and thinking that is both analytical and outside the box. Centric Brands reflects a team built on respect, for others and for the hard work it takes to achieve our goals and build our bright future together.

As one of the world's premier lifestyle brand collectives, we want to ensure that warehouses, factories, retail outlets and on-line retailers all over the world have what they need, when they need it. You'll be part of a team that leverages leading-edge technology - and innovative solutions - to deliver goods and materials on time, on schedule and in great condition. It's a career path the offers non-stop challenges and endless variety - along with the opportunity to learn the business from the best.

Specific Responsibilities Would Include

Position Summary Reporting directly to the Director of Logistics, the Parcel Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of Centric Brands' global parcel transportation network and freight payment execution. This role serves as a critical operational, financial, and analytical hub, partnering cross-functionally to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods across multiple countries, factories, and distribution centers-including direct-to-consumer shipments.

The Manager will lead global parcel carrier and account management, oversee the end-to-end freight audit and payment lifecycle, and lead sourcing events and contract negotiations. A primary focus of the role is driving advanced data-driven decision-making through granular shipment, mode, and accessorial analysis to optimize cost, service, and visibility across all Parcel operations.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing, Contract Negotiation & Strategy

  • Contract Oversight: Lead the analysis and negotiation of parcel contracts; maintain deep oversight into cost categories, including base rates, surcharges, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Strategic Sourcing: Manage the sourcing lifecycle for parcel carriers, identifying opportunities for RFP/RFQ events based on volume shifts or market benchmarks.
  • Negotiation Modeling: Develop cost-impact models for contract negotiations, specifically evaluating how changes in dimensional weight (DIM) factors, fuel surcharges, and residential fees impact the total spend.
  • Vendor Performance Management: Conduct regular business reviews (QBRs) with carriers to ensure adherence to negotiated terms and to drive continuous value.

Advanced Data Analytics & Performance Enhancement

  • Granular Cost Analysis: Perform deep-dive analytics on each key cost driver, including weight breaks, zone distribution, and accessorial charges, to identify "leakage" or optimization opportunities.
  • Weekly KPI Monitoring: Develop and monitor a weekly dashboard of key performance indicators (e.g., cost-per-package, transit time vs. commitment, on-time delivery percentages).
  • Performance Enhancement: Use weekly KPI data to implement immediate corrective actions, identifying carrier service failures or divisional shipping patterns that require operational adjustments.
  • Data Integration & BI: Manage the centralized Parcel data warehouse, integrating multi-source data (SAP, carrier portals, freight audit logs) into Power BI for executive-level visibility.
  • Visibility Enhancements: Ensure end-to-end shipment visibility by analyzing tracking reports and proactively identifying missing or inaccurate data.

Freight Payment Execution & Financial Governance

  • Freight Payment Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end freight payment workflow, ensuring high-accuracy processing of carrier invoices in coordination with Finance and third-party audit providers.
  • Audit Rigor: Oversee parcel freight audit processes; verify billing accuracy against negotiated contracts and aggressively seek recovery for non-compliant charges or non-Centric shipments.
  • GL & Accrual Management: Govern the GL coding structure across all parcel accounts to ensure financial alignment; maintain weekly and monthly accruals to provide transparency into pending liabilities.
  • Lifecycle Reporting: Provide timely data on the full shipment lifecycle-from initial quote and booking through to final delivery and payment.

Global Carrier & Operations Management

  • End-to-End Oversight: Manage global Parcel shipping operations, including carrier performance, daily execution, and continuous process improvements.
  • Account Governance: Manage the global parcel account structure, including setup, maintenance, and rationalization across divisions and DCs to ensure a clean and authorized account set.
  • Compliance & SOPs: Ensure compliance with international parcel usage, monitoring account activity and shipment volumes in strict adherence to global SOPs.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Establish and maintain strong communication with internal teams (Production, Compliance, Finance) and external partners (Carriers, Brokers, Suppliers).
  • Network Optimization: Maintain a deep understanding of parcel lanes and hub structures to optimize routing, cost, and service while minimizing risk of damage or delays.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Resolve shipment delays and exceptions before they impact internal or external customers; manage the full lifecycle of lost or damaged freight claims.
  • Workflow Management: Prioritize and manage daily workflows in alignment with business needs and operational demands.
  • Fiscal Oversight: Maintain and support weekly, monthly, and quarterly accruals for parcel freight to ensure financial transparency.
Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

Skills & Requirements:

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in parcel operations, freight payment management, and contract negotiations is required
  • Technical Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of parcel rate structures, contract terms, and global transportation compliance.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work extended hours or weekends as business needs require.
  • Technical Knowledge: High proficiency in domestic and international parcel shipping, import compliance protocols, and SAP systems.
  • Data Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization/BI tools (e.g., Power BI)

Core Competencies

  • Strategic Negotiation: Ability to dissect carrier contracts and negotiate terms that favor long-term cost avoidance.
  • Analytical Rigor: Advanced Excel and data modeling skills; ability to translate complex data sets into actionable executive insights.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of freight audit and payment cycles, accrual accounting, and GL structures.
  • Resilience: Ability to manage high-pressure, fast-paced environments and prioritize daily workflows against long-term strategic goals.
  • Customer Focus: Excellent internal and external customer service and client relation skills.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level reporting.
