Job description

Lead a Logistics Team of 5+ drivers while ensuring food safety and workplace safety remain the number one priority. Responsible for providing strategic direction and support to the Logistics and Supply Chain Leadership Team to ensure optimal performance and quality are achieved at minimal cost. Plan, organize, and monitor multi-temperature warehouse activities, including stock receiving, storage planning, building security, and ensuring quality products are shipped to stores in a timely manner. Ensure smooth and consistent warehouse operations to satisfy both internal and external requirements. Maintain compliance with CTC and Arber systems for the NorCal fleet by ensuring all information is up to date and accurately entered into the system. Oversee that all trucks maintain current insurance and registration documentation. Ensure all drivers follow safety protocols and company procedures. Collaborate with fleet vendors to ensure all trucks receive preventative maintenance services on schedule. Audit drivers to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures. Oversee driver training and maintain proper documentation for recordkeeping purposes. Coordinate transportation logistics by routing deliveries to stores effectively and efficiently.
Required Skills and Abilities
• Proven success in implementing and improving operational processes
• Ability to lead by example and act as a change agent in a fast-paced environment
• Strong ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing demands
• Ability to create strategic goals and develop realistic action plans to achieve them
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Experience in a food manufacturing and/or freezer environment preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Job Duties
  • Meet financial and performance objectives through effective workforce planning; maintain staff results through planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Supervise scan process to reduce error and ensure greater transaction accuracy to stores.
  • Control product inventory and stock movement in temperature controlled environment. Maintain inventory accuracy with minimal variance.
  • Oversee all merchandise counts are correct when received; ensure timely delivery and transfer of goods, with arrival within 30 minutes of the established time.
  • Upkeep sanitation requirements; check and meet quality guideline set forth by the QAFS personnel.

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures of coolers and freezers.
