Description Saalex is seeking a Senior System and Server Administrator in Ridgecrest, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services. Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $105k-$120k annually (depending on experience) Work Location: Onsite. Ridgecrest, CA. Overview The Senior System and Server Administrator leads the design, sustainment, security, and optimization of Linux and Windows environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to solve complex issues, and responsibility for improving automation, security posture, and system reliability. Key Responsibilities * Lead administration and optimization of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments
  • Architect, manage, and harden containerized platforms (Podman/Docker)
  • Oversee cybersecurity, compliance, and vulnerability mitigation efforts across systems
  • Plan and execute system sustainment, patching strategies, and lifecycle management
  • Serve as a technical authority for Microsoft Server (2016 or later) and Windows 10/11 environments
  • Oversee and improve client administration, imaging, and provisioning processes
Develop and maintain advanced automation and scripting solutions Bash for Linux environments
  • PowerShell for Windows environments
  • Manage and optimize Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and data‑flow issues, including high‑volume data transmissions
  • Mentor junior administrators and contribute to technical standards and best practices
Other duties as assigned or required Requirements 7+ years of system and server administration experience
  • Advanced expertise in RHEL and Microsoft server environments
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, compliance, and vulnerability management
  • Proven experience designing automation and scripting solutions
  • Deep understanding of enterprise storage and networking services
Ability to lead technical efforts and support mission‑critical systems Education: HS and years of experience may be considered in l lieu of a degree. Security Clearance: Active Secret required.
