Job description

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to manage the day-to-day operations of inbound and outbound logistics. This role will support cross functional initiatives and collaborate with departments such as Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Finance, and IT. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, a customer first mindset, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inbound and outbound logistics processes.
  • Build and maintain cross functional relationships across Materials, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Utilize supply planning input to forecast shipping needs and communicate with transportation partners.
  • Define and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Track fulfillment and shipping costs accurately.
  • Prepare packaging per item specifications and create packing slips.
  • Coordinate with Materials team to ensure packaging compliance.
  • Support international shipments by coordinating pickups and reviewing documentation.
  • Manage domestic shipments including supplier selection, cost negotiation, and documentation.
  • Track deliveries to ensure timely and accurate distribution.
  • Review shipping status reports and share receiving forecasts with Materials team.
  • Coordinate drop-offs with freight forwarders and warehouse/manufacturing teams.
  • Address internal customer inquiries and ensure timely order delivery.
  • Resolve transportation and inventory related issues.
  • Analyze logistics performance data to identify trends and support strategic decisions.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in Logistics or a related role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with international and domestic logistics coordination.
  • Familiarity with freight cost negotiation and supplier management.
