A Logistics Software Engineer is a technology professional who designs, develops, and maintains software systems that optimize logistics and supply chain operations. Their work involves creating solutions for inventory management, transportation planning, warehouse automation, and real-time tracking. They collaborate with logistics and business teams to understand operational needs and translate them into effective software applications. Logistics Software Engineers often work with large datasets, cloud platforms, and integration tools to ensure efficient and streamlined logistics processes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a logistics software engineer?

To thrive as a Logistics Software Engineer, you need a strong background in computer science, logistics operations, and software development, often supported by a relevant degree. Industry Expertise: Deep domain knowledge of perishable freight handling, cold storage operations, and temperature-controlled freight movements.

Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Skills: Strong analytical, data modeling, and process mapping abilities; bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are highly preferred in the South Florida market.
