Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to help facilitate the detailed operations of our freight brokerage and manage approximately 200 truckloads per day. The role involves coordinating the transportation of loads of construction debris, trash, paper, plastic, and metal from regional hubs in CT, RI, MA, and NY to various states, including PA, Ohio, and VA. The ideal candidates will possess strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and excellent communication abilities to ensure a smooth and efficient transport process, as well as have 3PL/Freight brokerage experience. This schedule includes Monday-Friday with a start time of 7:00 am and possible Saturday work.

Your Role:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and carriers to ensure smoother transportation of materials.
  • Conduct thorough screening and due diligence of carriers, including verifying their operational capability, insurance coverage, and safety records, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to secure cost-effective solutions.
  • Coordinate the movement of freight, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
  • Responsible for tracking shipments and maintaining accurate records.
  • Establish flexibility when faced with deadlines and challenges.
  • Provide exceptional service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize the supply chain processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ability to be flexible and work extended hours as required
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and market conditions to identify new customers and carriers.
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
