Job description

The Jewish Home of CNY is looking for a Nursing Coordinator with exceptional organizational skills along with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative Operations

  • Provides comprehensive administrative support to Nursing Administration.
  • Coordinates departmental communications and serves as an administrative resource for staff, vendors, physicians, consultants, and outside agencies.
  • Answers telephones, routes calls, responds to routine inquiries, and ensures timely communication.
  • Maintains department forms
  • Assists with departmental projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintains departmental filing systems, both electronic and paper.
  • Coordinates document retention and records management in accordance with facility policies.

Customer Service

  • Provides professional customer service to residents, families, visitors, physicians, consultants, vendors, and employees.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident, employee, and organizational information.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in all communications.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project coordination skills.

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare administration, long-term care, or hospital operations.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Knowledge of CMS and NYSDOH regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting executive or departmental leadership.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to operate computers, office equipment, and communication devices.
  • Ability to travel throughout the facility as operational needs require.
