Their responsibilities often include tracking shipments, managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers and carriers, and ensuring that products reach their destinations on time. Logistics Associates play a key role in maintaining efficient supply chains and may also handle documentation, data entry, and communication with various departments. Job description

Role:ย Development Associate

Location: Saskatoon, SK

Employment: Full-Time

Reporting to: Development Manager

Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan is a place that offers comfort, support and community to families with sick children, creating a nurturing place where families can heal together through compassion and communal support. They offer essential resources and a supportive home environment with a range of services including meals, health and wellness programs and sibling support, seeking to help alleviate the financial burden with accessing medical care but also enrich the healing process. Beyond just a place to stay, they have created a home filled with healing and hope, ensuring families can focus on what matters most, the well-being of their children.

With compassion and community support, Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan thrives on the generosity of its volunteers, donors and community partners. As they continue to grow and expand their impact with the support of Saskatchewan's caring community, they are building brand new locations in Prince Albert and Regina. Connect with an organization that is passionate about contributing directly to the recovery and emotional support of children and families.

The Opportunity

As Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan expands its presence across the province, they are adding a Development Associate to help bring the fundraising events and community initiatives that support families to life.

You will coordinate signature events, annual campaigns and community fundraisers, working with sponsors, donors, volunteers and community partners to take each initiative through planning and execution. With several priorities moving at once, you will keep the details organized, the right people connected and each initiative moving forward.

You enjoy making things happen and are equally comfortable coordinating the details of an event as you are picking up the phone to connect with a sponsor or meeting someone in the community. You bring initiative, follow-through and new ideas, and you are ready to contribute to the continued growth of fundraising across Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities

As the Development Associate, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

1. Fundraising Events & Initiatives

  • Coordinate and execute RMH Saskatchewan's signature events, annual campaigns and other fundraising initiatives, managing multiple events and priorities concurrently.
  • Manage event planning and logistics including timelines, sponsorship coordination, vendors, volunteers, communications, expenses and onsite execution.
  • Work within established event budgets, track expenses and revenue, and maintain accurate financial and fundraising information throughout each initiative.
  • Evaluate event and fundraising results, including financial outcomes and return on investment, and identify opportunities to strengthen future initiatives.
  • Research and bring forward new fundraising opportunities that can increase revenue, community participation and awareness of RMH Saskatchewan.
  1. Donor, Sponsor & Community Engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, community partners and other supporters connected to fundraising initiatives.
  • Secure gifts and sponsorships in support of events, annual campaigns and other fundraising initiatives, while supporting donor stewardship associated with these activities.
  • Identify and engage prospective donors, sponsors and community partners while continuing relationships already established with RMH Saskatchewan.
  • Grow third-party and community fundraising by identifying new opportunities, encouraging organizations, groups and individuals to fundraise for RMH Saskatchewan, and supporting initiatives that increase participation and revenue.
  • Represent RMH Saskatchewan at fundraising and community events, provide tours to prospective donors and partners, and present on behalf of the organization as required.
  1. Fundraising Communications & Collaboration
  • Collaborate across RMH Saskatchewan to plan, promote and execute fundraising events and annual campaigns.
  • Support fundraising communications and social media activities in alignment with RMH Saskatchewan and RMH Global brand guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate fundraising records, metrics, sponsorship information and reporting to support departmental goals and organizational planning.
  • Work cross-functionally with colleagues and volunteers throughout RMH Saskatchewan, coordinating the people, information and resources required to deliver successful fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

As the Development Associate, you will possess the following qualities:

The Essentials (Hard Skills):

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, marketing, communications, fundraising, event management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, donor development, events, community engagement or another relevant relationship-focused environment.
  • Experience taking ownership of projects, events or initiatives from planning through execution, with the ability to manage multiple timelines and competing priorities at once.
  • Strong relationship development skills with the confidence to engage donors, sponsors, businesses and community partners through phone, email and in-person conversations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present and represent RMH Saskatchewan at fundraising and community events.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with close attention to detail and the ability to manage several events, projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Comfortable working within established budgets, managing spreadsheets, tracking expenses and revenue, and understanding the financial results of fundraising initiatives.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, sponsorship, community engagement, not-for-profit organizations or working with volunteers is considered an asset.
  • A valid driver's licence and flexibility to travel and work occasional evenings, weekends and statutory holidays to support events and community initiatives.

The Intangibles (Soft Skills):

  • Self-directed and motivated, with the initiative to take ownership of an event or project and carry it from an idea through to completion without requiring constant direction.
  • Naturally comfortable engaging with people, with the confidence to pick up the phone, start conversations and develop relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers and community partners.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail, with the ability to keep several events, timelines and priorities moving at the same time.
  • Resourceful and accountable, understanding that when an initiative does not deliver the expected result, the responsibility is to adjust the approach and find another way forward.
  • Compassionate and emotionally mature, with an understanding of the families RMH Saskatchewan serves and the responsibility that comes with fundraising on their behalf.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, comfortable working across departments and bringing different people together to deliver successful events and fundraising initiatives.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation Package - Competitive pay with annual compensation reviews and paid time off based on employment status.
  • Health & Wellness Support - Access to health and wellness benefits and an Employee Assistance Program, with coverage based on eligibility.
