Job description

Logistics Specialist (Maternity Leave Contract - Fully Remote)
Keep Products Moving. Solve Complex Challenges. Make an Impact.
Are you a detail-oriented logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy solving problems, optimizing supply chains, and ensuring products reach customers on time and without disruption?
We're looking for a proactive Logistics Specialist to join our Supply Chain team on a maternity leave contract. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain & Logistics, you'll play a critical role in coordinating domestic and international shipments, managing retailer logistics compliance, resolving disputes, and supporting seamless order fulfillment from start to finish.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating across departments, improving processes, and making a measurable impact on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
Transportation & Logistics Coordination
You'll ensure products move efficiently through our supply chain by:
  • Coordinating domestic and international shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Managing transportation schedules while ensuring compliance with carrier and customs requirements.
  • Preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, including packing slips, commercial invoices, shipping labels, customs documentation, and Chamber of Commerce certifications.
  • Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving delays, customs issues, freight claims, and delivery discrepancies.
Order Management, EDI & Inventory Support
You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate order flow and supporting inventory visibility by:
  • Managing customer purchase orders, shipping requests, and related documentation.
  • Processing EDI transactions, including purchase order acknowledgements, invoices, Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs), and customer-specific labeling requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate order status within NetSuite, customer portals, and internal tracking systems.
  • Coordinating shipments for samples, trade shows, donations, and promotional materials.
  • Managing Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), shipping adjustments, product destruction requests, and related documentation.
  • Supporting inventory accuracy through reconciliations, cycle counts, reporting, and logistics KPI tracking.
Retailer Disputes & Chargeback Resolution (Primary Owner)
As the subject matter expert for retailer logistics disputes, you will:
  • Own the end-to-end management of retailer chargebacks, shortages, late delivery claims, and compliance disputes.
  • Investigate issues by reviewing Proofs of Delivery (PODs), Bills of Lading (BOLs), ASNs, warehouse reports, shipping records, and communication history.
  • Prepare compelling dispute packages with supporting documentation to maximize successful recoveries.
  • Maintain detailed dispute tracking and provide monthly reporting, trend analysis, root cause identification, and preventative recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to reduce recurring issues and improve retailer performance.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
You'll help strengthen our operations by:
  • Ensuring logistics processes comply with company SOPs, quality standards, ISO requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve logistics workflows, documentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Staying current on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and logistics technologies.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who combines technical logistics expertise with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related role (Consumer Packaged Goods experience is an asset).
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international transportation, customs documentation, freight processes, and HS codes.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as NetSuite, EDI platforms, and customer portals.
  • Knowledge of retailer compliance requirements and logistics documentation.
  • Experience investigating and resolving retailer disputes or chargebacks is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of freight costs, carrier performance, and transportation metrics.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, FDA, and Health Canada regulations is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
Why You'll Love This Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to:
  • Make a meaningful impact on supply chain operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Work alongside a collaborative and supportive cross-functional team.
  • Take ownership of high-impact logistics activities and retailer relationships.
  • Expand your expertise across transportation, EDI, inventory management, retailer compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to an organization that values innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to: Director of Supply Chain & Logistics
Working Conditions
  • Fully Remote
  • Frequent computer and ERP system use.
  • Extended periods of sitting.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasional filing and administrative duties when onsite.

If you're passionate about logistics, enjoy solving complex operational challenges, and take pride in delivering exceptional service, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help keep our supply chain moving.
