JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Logistics Specialist (Receiving) is responsible for overseeing the inbound logistics process,

ensuring accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, and storage of goods and materials. This role

involves coordinating with vendors, managing inventory accuracy, maintaining compliance with safety

regulations, and optimizing warehouse operations to support supply chain efficiency. The ideal

candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in inventory

management and receiving operations.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the receipt of inbound shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and packing

slips.

• Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues.

• Ensure proper documentation and data entry of received goods into inventory management systems

(e.g., ERP, WMS).

• Label, tag, and allocate received items to designated storage locations.

• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to resolve shipment discrepancies and return damaged

items if needed.

• Collaborate with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available

for production or distribution.

• Communicate with carriers and freight companies to track incoming shipments.

• Coordinate unloading activities with forklift operators and warehouse personnel.

• Identify opportunities to optimize receiving processes and improve warehouse

efficiency.

• Ensure that warehouse receiving areas remain organized, clean, and compliant with company

policies.

• Implement best practices for handling and storing goods to prevent damage and loss. Required

Skill Sets:

• Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, TMS, WMS)

• Experience with ERP/WMS software for tracking and managing inventory (SAP).

• Ability to inspect, document, and resolve discrepancies in received shipments.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills to work with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Experience operating warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack) is a plus.
