The Logistics & Shipping Manager oversees an organization responsible for the coordination and execution of domestic and international shipments for large-scale turbomachinery products within the PSO organization. This role leads complex logistics operations-including oversized and project cargo-ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery to customers across global markets.
Responsibility includes leading a diverse team composed of logistics professionals as well as hourly employees responsible for packing and shipping/loading operations. The position requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to manage end-to-end logistics activities while driving performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Select, develop and motivate team members to set and meet the business priorities and customer deliveries.
  • Foster a culture of safety, customer service, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Provide direction, prioritize work, and ensure accountability for team performance.
  • Plan and oversee end-to-end logistics for turbomachinery shipments, including oversized, heavy-haul, and project cargo.
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies to ensure on-time delivery while optimizing cost and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, export controls, and documentation.
  • Mitigate risks related to global shipping disruptions, geopolitical constraints, and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and customers to align schedules and requirements.
  • Anticipate and resolve logistical challenges for complex deliveries (e.g., port restrictions, site access constraints).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain, or related field with strong exposure to heavy, oversized, or project cargo.
  • 5+ Years of proven experience management
  • Experience with domestic and international shipping operations, including customs and export compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, carrier management, and logistics planning.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of route surveys, permitting, and heavy-haul transportation requirements.
  • Top candidates will bring substantial experience managing personnel, with a strong track record of leading teams, driving accountability, and developing talent.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
