Job description

We're hiring a Logistics & Packaging Coordinator to own packaging, shipping, receiving, and freight management for a precision component manufacturer serving customers across highly regulated, quality-driven industries. This is a hands-on, fast-paced environment where accuracy, documentation, and customer compliance matter every day.
This is also a place to build a long-term career. Our client is a well-established, family-owned precision manufacturer with decades of experience and advanced CNC machining and additive manufacturing capabilities. If you bring strong organizational instincts, sound judgment, and a bias toward ownership, there is real opportunity to grow alongside the company.
Why This Role
  • Precision industry exposure: work directly with packaging and shipping requirements for high-spec, close-tolerance components
  • Ownership and autonomy: independently manage logistics priorities, carrier relationships, and packaging standards - not just executing a checklist
  • Established, stable company: decades in business, long-standing ownership, long-term customer relationships
  • Cross-functional visibility: work directly with Supply Chain, Production Control, Quality, Engineering, and Operations

Compensation, Schedule & Benefits
  • $65,000 / year, salaried
  • First Shift, Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off

Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Own and improve packaging, shipping, receiving, and freight procedures
  • Interpret customer packaging, labeling, routing, and shipping requirements
  • Design and document packaging standards, including custom and reusable solutions for precision components
  • Manage customer shipping portals, notifications, labels, and documentation
  • Own receiving/shipping transactions in ERP, ensuring accurate inventory records
  • Establish receiving processes for raw materials, tooling, and customer-furnished items
  • Select and coordinate freight (parcel, LTL, dedicated, expedited, specialized)
  • Develop carrier/broker relationships; negotiate rates and service terms
  • Evaluate freight performance, cost, and delivery reliability
  • Make day-to-day decisions on carriers, packaging, and logistics priorities
  • Investigate and resolve shipping, receiving, and delivery issues
  • Maintain packaging inventory levels and train staff on procedures
  • Keep logistics records organized and audit-ready
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Production Control, Quality, Engineering, and Operations

Qualifications
  • 3+ years in logistics, packaging, shipping/receiving, supply chain, or manufacturing preferred
  • Aerospace, defense, medical, or precision manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret and implement customer packaging/shipping requirements
  • Experience developing packaging methods, procedures, and work instructions
  • ERP experience (receiving, inventory, shipping transactions)
  • Experience with customer supplier portals and electronic shipping docs
  • Working knowledge of parcel, LTL, dedicated, expedited, and specialized freight
  • Freight carrier negotiation/management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently amid shifting priorities

Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
