Job Description:
Role and Responsibilities
  • Quickly and proactively evaluate and resolve problems that may arise while trucks and drivers are in transit.
  • Ability to expect the unexpected and monitor and adjust today and tomorrow's plans throughout the day.
  • Participates and/or leads to strategic projects related to freight and transportation, implementing improvements in the process and operation that would either reduce costs or increase logistics efficiency.
  • Monitor/Negotiate transportation costs ensuring low cost with a high service level, contracts/rates for shipment, storage fees, and distribution status of the product
  • Various systems management (internal and external) to accomplish daily/weekly/monthly tasks.
  • Ability to proficiently manage multiple tasks/projects while staying organized in day-to-day activities.
  • Work directly with 3PLs to resolve customer complaints and issues.
  • Establish and measure KPIs by applying statistical methods that could positively drive the performance of on-time delivery, warehouse inventory management, and product quality
  • Documenting and data collection for supporting departments/activities
  • Ability to make decisions based on cost and service drivers to better serve the organization.
  • Ad-hoc support includes providing ad-hoc support for our sales team, executives, supply chain team, finance team, accounting team, and regulatory team (providing documents, creating reports, and more as requested)

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and 3+ years of experience in logistics and/or transportation.
  • Load Planning/Order Management experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Strong Excel proficiency and skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in teams and work with remote teammates.
  • Works on problems with limited and routine scope where limited analysis of data requires identification of predetermined solutions.
  • Exercises of judgment within defined practices and policies in selection of methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Typically has general knowledge of logistics operations related to employee's specific area of work, and knowledge of overall logistics operations.
  • Can identify standard problems within the delivery cycle and make a recommendation to provide a solution to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work extended periods of time in an open office environment.
