Logistics Administrator
 
Location: Grand Rapids, MI 
Shift: 1st Shift 7:00 am -3:30 pm 
Pay: $18.00+ per hour Based on experience 
 
Job Summary
The Logistics Administrator is responsible for supporting daily transportation, shipping, and administrative operations to ensure efficient movement of products and timely delivery to customers. This role serves as a key point of communication between drivers, customers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and internal departments while maintaining accurate documentation and shipment records.
 
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
 
What You'll Be Doing
As a Administrative Assistant, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Review and process shipping and delivery documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify delivery receipts, bills of lading, and transportation records against system information
  • Enter daily shipment, routing, and transportation data into company systems
  • Maintain and update shipment tracking records and logistics databases
  • Print, review, and monitor backlog and shipping reports to identify completed orders awaiting shipment
  • Coordinate with warehouse, production, and transportation teams to ensure timely shipment of customer orders
  • Communicate with customers, drivers, and carriers to verify shipment details and delivery schedules
  • Follow up on delayed, missing, or incomplete shipments and assist with issue resolution
  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails related to shipping, transportation, and customer inquiries
  • Greet drivers and assist with check-in and document processing procedures
  • Scan, file, and distribute shipping paperwork to appropriate departments
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other documentation to support logistics operations
  • Assist with scheduling pickups, deliveries, and transportation resources as needed
  • Maintain organized records in compliance with company policies and procedure
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on transportation efficiency and customer service
 
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, customer service, shipping, or administrative support
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and data entry systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills
