Job description

The Food Service Operations Manager role is designed for an operational and administrative professional who will function as the right-hand person to the Director of Food Services. This person will be overseeing daily operations, supervising and managing staff across multiple food service units including cafes, catering and retail ensuring consistency, efficiency, and accountability across all areas of the department. Flexibility is necessary as the schedule may change due to the needs of the agency. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).


Oversight includes coordination across:

· Margot’s Café (weekly operations)

· Jolie’s Café (seasonal and daily operations)

· Upcoming Coffee Shop (daily operations)

· Catering coordination (JGourmet)

· Collaboration with kitchen production for catering orders


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Operations Management

· Oversee and ensure smooth daily operations

· Maintain consistency in service, product quality, and customer experience

· Assist with process improvements and efficiencies

· Manage staff and shift schedules across all outlets

· Vendor communication and ordering coordination


Administrative & Business Functions

· Manage catering orders and communications, inquiries and calendars

· Invoicing, data entry, general administrative duties and follow-up

· Coordinate logistics for events and programs

· Support inventory and vendor coordination

· Support strategic growth initiatives


REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's degree required, preferably in relative field

· 5+ years in hospitality and food service

· Leadership and team management experience

· Strong operational mindset, organizational skills and attention to detail

· Proven ability to manage operations independently

· Strong communication skills

· Comfortable balancing hands-on work with administrative responsibilities

· Have a professional appearance, manner, tone, and attitude.


The Food Service Operations Manager will be a collaborator as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He/she must be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the framework of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may change as the needs of the JCC and/or community change.
