Position Summary:

Bodorlaser Inc. is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support logistics operations across North America. This role is responsible for managing import and export shipments, coordinating customs clearance, overseeing warehouse inventory and domestic transportation, managing logistics vendors, and ensuring efficient logistics operations.


The ideal candidate has experience in international logistics, warehousing, and transportation, possesses strong organizational and communication skills, and is comfortable working with both local logistics partners and the headquarters in China.


Key Responsibilities


Import & Export Operations (35%)

Coordinate and manage import and export shipments from origin to final delivery.

Review import documentation and ensure customs clearance documents are complete and accurate before submitting to customs brokers.

Track customs clearance status and coordinate timely cargo release and pickup.

Arrange export shipments with carriers and freight forwarders while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Confirm duties, taxes, and logistics-related charges, and submit internal payment requests.

Logistics & Transportation Management (30%)

Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with local logistics vendors and transportation providers.

Coordinate domestic deliveries and monitor shipment status to ensure on-time delivery.

Collect and maintain Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.

Purchase logistics-related insurance and coordinate insurance claims when necessary.

Verify freight invoices and initiate payment requests.

Warehouse & Inventory Management (20%)

Manage finished goods inventory at third-party warehouses.

Monitor inventory movements, including inbound and outbound transactions.

Support periodic physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation.

Travel to warehouses when necessary for inventory audits or operational support.

Logistics Systems & Process Improvement (15%)

Maintain logistics records, reports, and system data accurately and timely.

Update logistics Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure documentation is current.

Share logistics information across departments and headquarters.

Collaborate with the China headquarters through regular communication and weekly meetings to support ongoing logistics operations.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Professional working proficiency in English with the ability to communicate effectively with local vendors, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams.

Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese to collaborate effectively with headquarters in China.

Experience in import/export operations, warehousing, transportation, or supply chain logistics.

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Experience using ERP, WMS, or logistics management systems is preferred.

Ability to travel occasionally for warehouse inventory counts or supplier visits.

Ability to occasionally lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or international logistics.

Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs).

Knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and customs procedures.

Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, machinery, or automation industries is a plus.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and international teams.

Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.


Location

This position is based in Schaumburg, Illinois. Employees are expected to work primarily from the office. Occasional travel to local warehouses and suppliers may be required for inventory audits, logistics coordination, and supplier management.
