Job Objective:The Director of Fuel Logistics is responsible for leading and overseeing fuel dispatch and transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery performance across the business. This role provides leadership to dispatch operations, supports driver and fleet efficiency, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners cross-functionally to align logistics execution with operational and customer objectives. The Director of Fuel Logistics drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, safety, cost management, operational performance, and scalability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily fuel logistics and dispatch operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery execution
  • Direct and develop dispatch personnel and logistics team members to support operational excellence, accountability, and customer service
  • Monitor routing, scheduling, and transportation performance to maximize operational efficiency and resource utilization
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT, FMCSA, environmental, safety, and transportation regulations
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Supply, Terminal Leadership, and other internal stakeholders to align logistics activities with business goals and customer expectations
  • Analyze operational metrics and transportation data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and service enhancement
  • Oversee driver scheduling and dispatch coverage to support operational continuity and customer demand
  • Support the resolution of escalated operational, customer, or driver concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure customer requirements, delivery expectations, and operational procedures are effectively communicated to dispatch personnel and drivers
  • Lead employee performance management activities, including coaching, development, performance reviews, and corrective action, as needed
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain regular communication with leadership regarding operational performance, challenges, staffing, and daily logistics activities
  • Support strategic initiatives, process improvements, system enhancements, and other operational projects asassigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fuel logistics, dispatch operations, transportation management, or a related field
  • Previous leadership experience managing dispatch, logistics, transportation, or operations teams
  • Experience leading high-volume transportation or logistics operations
  • Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the assigned operating location
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to lead in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to analyze transportation and operational data to drive performance improvements and operational decisions
  • Strong understanding of dispatch operations, routing, fleet utilization, and transportation best practices
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation compliance requirements, and safety standards
  • Experience utilizing transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, telematics platforms, and related logistics tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and responding effectively under pressure
  • Professional, customer-focused, and ethical approach to leadership and operations management
  • Flexibility to support operational needs outside of standard business hours, as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the fuel, petroleum, energy, or transportation industry
  • Experience supporting multi-site or regional logistics operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or a related field
