Job description

This position is primarily responsible for managing the day to day logistics operations at the Midtown and 5400 Good Hope locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Coordinate workflow to ensure daily on-time shipping requirements are met.
  • Provide frontline support for daily logistics operations.
  • Responsible for supervising Logistics Associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining department shipment data and records, run weekly reports
  • Responsible for maintaining warehouse inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for following all company safety rules and guidelines.
  • Ensure quality standards and workmanship standards for Sellars products are met on a continuing basis.
  • Coordinate unloading and put away of incoming product.
  • Coordinate and communicate with production teams (on all shifts) about daily logistics plan.
  • Able to apply lean principles to reducing costs and continually improving the work flow of the area.
  • Ensure that all shipping and receiving processes are being followed.
  • Determine, suggest, and implement the most cost effective manner to improve logistics processes to better serve our customers and company.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of building.
  • Maintain all metrics as they are assigned.
  • Responsible for new employee training.
  • Any other duties not listed above deemed necessary.

Qualifications: An individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily to successfully meet the requirements of this position. The information below is viewed as representative of the body of knowledge and physical attributes needed to be successful in this position.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to problem solve (identify problem, define root cause, develop alternative solutions and select and implement most effective solution).
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Focus on continually improving processes and measuring implemented improvements.

Language and Teamwork Required
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility in work assignments.
  • Ability to exercise professionalism, courtesy and tact in dealing with all members of the Sellars organization and external resources.
  • Ability to encourage and foster team work within the logistics group as well as outside the logistics group.
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills dealing with issues in a positive, complete manner.
  • Good coaching skills with the capability to deal with issues in a positive but complete manner.
  • Ability to seek out, listen and value inputs from all levels in the organization.
  • Positive work attitude.

Education and Experience Required
  • Prior experience in warehouse supervision preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Position does require ability to move around the facility to meet with employees in various locations.
  • Must be able to use a computer and phone to conduct business.
  • Lift a maximum of 50 lbs
  • Completion of Sellars training to operate material handling equipment when needed
