Role Description

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for analyzing and coordinating freight activity, managing key customer transportation programs, maintaining logistics reporting, monitoring carrier performance, and supporting transportation systems and cost control initiatives.


The Logistics Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring service excellence for key retail customers while supporting operational efficiency, visibility, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.


This is a hybrid role with four days in the office and one day working from home.


The start time for this role is flexible - the selected candidate could start as early as 6am or as late as 7:30am.


This role is located at our headquarters at 1400 W 44th Street, Chicago, IL 60609.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Customer Transportation Management

  • Manage transportation coordination and load execution for key customer accounts.
  • Monitor shipment activity, appointment scheduling, and carrier performance to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Serve as a point of coordination between carriers, internal operations teams, customer service, and warehouse personnel.
  • Proactively identify and resolve transportation or service-related issues.


Logistics Reporting and Data Analysis

  • Maintain and update Berkshire logistics data and transportation reporting tools.
  • Prepare and analyze timeliness reports, outbound shipment trackers, and transportation performance metrics.
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities for operational improvement and freight optimization.
  • Support data accuracy and reporting visibility for logistics operations.


Freight and Load Board Management

  • Manage master freight schedules and load board activity.
  • Coordinate shipment coverage and carrier assignments based on operational requirements.
  • Assist with freight planning and capacity management to support customer demand.


Carrier Performance and Metrics

  • Create, maintain, and analyze carrier scorecards and transportation KPIs.
  • Track carrier service performance, delivery metrics, and compliance standards.
  • Provide recommendations to improve carrier efficiency, reliability, and overall transportation performance.


Freight Audit and Cost Control

  • Review and validate freight invoices for accuracy and compliance with agreed-upon rates and services.
  • Investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrections with carriers and internal departments.
  • Assist with freight cost tracking, reporting, and transportation expense analysis.


Transportation Systems and Continuous Improvement

  • Perform Transportation Management System (TMS) reviews and support system maintenance and data integrity.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives related to logistics reporting, freight management, and transportation operations.
  • Support development and standardization of logistics processes and reporting tools.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, or supply chain analysis preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics reporting tools preferred.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), freight platforms, or load boards preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.



Compensation and Benefits Summary:

  • Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year.
