Job description

SUMMARY
Northline Seafoods is a seafood processing company looking for a motivated, detail-oriented seasonal Runner to support our land based and fleet operations. This position is a critical hands-on role responsible for procuring supplies, supporting our fleet services, moving freight, and supported any needs during peak operations. This position involves physical work, fast-paced responsiveness, and strong coordination with dock staff, operations teams, and vessel crews. If something needs to be delivered, picked up, hauled, or found-this role gets it done.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Run essential items (groceries, gear, fuel, ice, mail, parts, equipment) to vessels and tenders
  • Serve as the primary Naknek point-of-contact for all in-season procurement at local stores
  • Communicate with fleet to find parts and supplies in their lockers, deliver to them at the dock or send out on tenders or supply vessels
  • Assist with pre and post season fishermen freight movements
  • Pick up supplies, fleet or tender crew, and other Northline personnel and guests from the King Salmon airport and deliver them to support vessels to get to their destination
  • Run errands to pick up parts, supplies, nets, groceries and other items needed to support operations
  • Load and unload totes, nets, cargo, coolers, and gear from skiffs, tenders, and trucks
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in staging, dock, and supply areas
  • Maintain net and freight manifests of yards and staging areas
  • Prep and track inventory items for delivery or storage
  • Operate vehicles and forklifts safely for local transport & freight tasks
  • Log tasks and communicate clearly with the fleet and operations teams
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and urgent fleet needs
  • Work closely with processor partners
  • Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in an office setting, fleet support role, or similar capacity preferred - bonus if you've previously worked with fisheries.
  • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment handling and fisherman support systems.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work 12+ hour days, 7 days per week over a 60+ day season in Bristol Bay, AK.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job largely operates on land, though navigation of wet, slippery, and close quarters aboard a boat setting will be required. This role routinely uses equipment such as forklift, zoom booms and vehicles. The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time and work at odd hours, depending on the tides and dock dates. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with both fleet and Northline management. Must be able to lift 50 pounds individually and up to 80 pounds with assistance.
