What are log auditors?

Log auditors are professionals who review, analyze, and verify logs generated by computer systems, networks, or applications to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with policies and regulations. They help organizations detect irregularities, unauthorized access, or potential security breaches by scrutinizing log files for unusual patterns or activities. Log auditors often work closely with IT and security teams to support audits, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting.

What are some common challenges Log Auditors face when analyzing large volumes of system data?

Log Auditors often encounter challenges such as sifting through massive datasets to identify anomalies, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of logs, and keeping up-to-date with evolving compliance standards. Managing time efficiently and prioritizing which logs to audit, especially during security incidents, can be demanding. Collaboration with IT and security teams is essential to address issues quickly and ensure findings are communicated effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Log Auditor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Log Auditor, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of IT security protocols, often supported by a degree in information technology or a related field. Familiarity with log management tools like Splunk or Graylog, as well as certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), is typically required. Effective communication, problem-solving, and integrity are vital soft skills to accurately interpret findings and report issues. These skills and qualifications are important to ensure accurate monitoring, compliance, and the prompt identification of security threats or irregularities within an organization's systems.

Job description

Contract Manager

Eden Health requires the services of a qualified temporary Contract Manager to audit and correct its contracts log, an Excel spreadsheet used to track all entered contracts. The log contains inaccuracies in entries for parties, contract types, termination dates, notice requirements for renewal or termination, and related data. The role demands the skill level of at least a Contract Manager to ensure systematic verification against original documents for accuracy across multi-state operations in home health, home care, palliative care, and hospice services in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.

· Systematically review each entry in the contracts log against original contract documents (digital and physical files).

· Verify and update critical fields including full legal names of counterparties and Eden entities (e.g., Eden Home Health of [Location], LLC or equivalent managed by Eden Healthcare Management, LLC per organizational structure), contract classification (vendor agreements, payer contracts, commercial leases, student affiliation agreements, employment contracts, etc.), effective dates, termination/expiration dates, renewal/termination notice periods, and other material terms.

· Identify and document discrepancies, missing documents, potential compliance risks (e.g., expired agreements, auto-renewals, multi-state regulatory issues), and recommend corrective actions.

· Utilize advanced Excel functions for data validation, tracking progress, and generating summary reports.

· Collaborate with legal, operations, and IT teams to resolve issues and improve future logging processes.

· Ensure all updates align with company policies, HIPAA requirements, and Eden Health standards for contract management (excluding any California references).

· Prepare a final audit report summarizing corrections made, outstanding issues, and suggestions for transitioning to a more robust contract management system.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in contract administration or management, preferably in healthcare or regulated industries.

· Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.

· Strong understanding of contract terms, lifecycle management, and basic legal principles (termination clauses, notice provisions, compliance tracking).

· Experience with healthcare-specific contracts (e.g., payer agreements, vendor services, commercial leases, student affiliation agreements) highly desirable.

· Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information.

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or related field; paralegal certification or equivalent legal experience preferred.

· Knowledge of multi-state operations and healthcare regulations a plus.
