Locum Tenens Opportunity: Vascular Surgeon Near Bardwell, KY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vascular Surgeon to provide locum tenens coverage near Bardwell, KY. This position offers the flexibility of locum tenens work with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 24-hour call coverage for vascular surgery, with an estimated 3-5 days per month.
  • Perform a wide range of vascular and endovascular procedures, including:
    • Aneurysm repairs (abdominal and arterial bypass)
    • Peripheral vascular access devices
    • AV shunt
    • Bypass surgery (Femoral Popliteal, Aortofemoral)
    • Stenting
    • Endovascular and open surgical reconstruction for deep vein occlusions
    • Treatment for peripheral artery disease
  • Collaborate with a dedicated vascular team available Thursday-Sunday, with support from 2 trained surgical technologists.
  • Work in a facility equipped with 1 OR, 1 Siemens Hybrid OR, and 1 Siemens Interventional Radiology Suite.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care for adult and geriatric populations.
Work Details:
  • Schedule: Flexible with 24-hour call coverage; dates to be determined based on credentialing and emergent needs.
  • Licensure: Must have an active Kentucky medical license or be willing to obtain one.
  • Certification Requirements:
    • Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery
    • Flu shot required at the time of credentialing
    • COVID-19 vaccination is highly preferred
  • Patient Demographics: Primarily adult and geriatric patients
  • Ancillary Support: No certified first assist, but well-trained vascular team and surgical technologists provided
  • Additional Requirements: Commitment to maintaining high-quality care and effective communication with the multidisciplinary team.
