Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Obstetrics and Gynecology physician for a locum tenens opportunity in a supportive and dynamic inpatient setting near Franklin, Tennessee. This is a call-only position, providing excellent work-life balance and the potential for ongoing assignments.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: January 6, 2024
  • End Date: Ongoing
  • Schedule:
    • Call-only coverage
    • Average call response time: 30 minutes
    • Beeper call with an average of 2 consults, admissions, and callbacks per 24 hours
  • Patient Care:
    • Average deliveries: 140 per year
    • Unassigned patient rounding

Practice Highlights:

  • Facility Details:
    • Level IV Trauma Center
    • Level I Pediatric care
    • 16-bed OB/GYN department
  • Support Team:
    • 2 RNs per shift
    • No advanced practice providers or office staff required

Skills and Responsibilities:
The role encompasses a wide range of OB/GYN skills, including:

  • Obstetrics:
    • Management of low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
    • Fetal heart rate interpretation and basic OB ultrasounds
    • Routine and complicated deliveries, including C-sections and VBACs
    • Repair of 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations
  • Gynecology:
    • Office procedures such as IUD insertion/removal, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP
    • Surgical gynecology, including laparoscopic and major operative cases

Requirements:

  • Active Tennessee medical license
  • Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and EFM
  • Must have TN Medicaid enrollment or eligibility
