Neurohospitalist

Our client in Eastern Tennessee is currently searching for a locums Neurohospitalist to work in their Neurosciences Department for an ongoing assignment.

Requirements:

  • Must be Board Certified
  • Must have a TN license. If strong candidate is presented, will consider licensing (6-8 weeks process)
  • Fellowship preferred

Practice Details:

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient
  • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
  • Hours/Shifts: 7 days on and 7 days off (12) hour shifts Tuesday-Tuesday/Physician will carry call phone at night for call. The Saturday and Sunday hours can be selected by the physician. The normal time is 4 hours on Saturday and Sunday to be in-house for rounding. Physician will have call phone at night. Teleneurology is consulted for stroke for hours after 7:00pm. 
  • Call Type: Beeper
  • Rounding: Both assigned and unassigned patients
  • Patients Per Shift: Average of 12 patients
  • Neurohospitalist will be responsible for consulting and admission of patients presenting with Neurologic diagnosis. Provider will be admitting as well as consulting physician. 
  • Physician must be comfortable with Stroke protocol as required to respond to "code Stroke" if during 7a-7p.
