Job Requirements
  • Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) required
  • Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC required
  • Fetal monitoring experience required
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday at a minimum
  • Ability to provide some weekend coverage
  • At least 1 year of OB/GYN physician experience required
  • Strong comfort with hospital-based obstetric and gynecologic call coverage
  • Ability to provide two professional references at presentation
  • Clean malpractice and background history preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provide in-house OB/GYN call coverage for weekday and weekend shifts
  • Triaging and delivering OB patients
  • Covering OB/GYN emergency department calls
  • Rounding on patients while on service
  • Supporting low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
  • Interpreting fetal heart monitoring, NST/CST/FSE, and managing screening ultrasounds
  • Performing labor and delivery procedures, including routine and complicated deliveries
  • Managing C-sections, breech deliveries, multiple births, and VBACs when indicated
  • Performing gynecologic procedures such as diagnostic laparoscopic cases, ectopic pregnancy management, cystectomy, and extensive lysis of adhesions
  • Providing newborn and postpartum support as needed, including circumcisions if able
