ROLE OVERVIEW:

A leading technology organization is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager with a strong background in FPGA and digital design to support the development of secure tactical communication products.

This role will lead a team of embedded FPGA engineers responsible for developing firmware for wireless communication systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise along with proven leadership experience managing teams, projects, budgets, and schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and manage a team of FPGA engineers, including goal setting, performance management, training, and career development
  • Drive project execution to successful delivery, ensuring timelines and performance metrics are met
  • Oversee FPGA firmware development for wireless communication systems and products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and verify FPGA solutions
  • Manage project resources, schedules, and budgets for firmware development initiatives
  • Develop cost estimates and timelines for FPGA development projects
  • Maintain and improve FPGA development processes and best practices
  • Ensure alignment with engineering standards, quality expectations, and program objectives
  • Perform all supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in FPGA or firmware development
  • Experience developing and verifying FPGA or ASIC-based embedded systems
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience in embedded systems or FPGA design
  • Strong understanding of FPGA and ASIC development and verification processes
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with VHDL or Verilog coding for synthesis
  • Experience with FPGA or ASIC verification using SystemVerilog
  • Familiarity with UVM or OVM verification methodologies
  • Experience developing embedded cryptographic security solutions
  • Experience with signal processing for communication systems
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams effectively
  • Experience working with distributed or remote teams
  • Active SECRET Clearance
COMPENSATION:

In compliance with New York pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this position is $105,000–$145,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
