As a Locum Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing patient conditions through laboratory materials and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate and timely results. Your expertise will be vital in delivering patient-centered care and advancing our commitment to healthcare excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic examinations of tissues and fluids
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to discuss patient cases
  • Provide accurate and timely pathology reports
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulations
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs
  • Mentor and support junior medical staff
  • Stay current with advancements in pathology and related fields
  • Engage in interdisciplinary patient care discussions
Requirements
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Virginia
  • Completion of residency in Pathology
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred

Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 5 days per week

No call required

Monthly Volume: ~575 surgical pathology cases and ~54 cytology cases

Case Types: Breast, hysterectomy-related tissues, GI, gallbladder, placenta, bone marrow, and lymph nodes

Frozen sections required

Support Staff: PA, histo aid, etc.

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
