Seeking Hospitalists for Dekalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, Alabama for locum coverage.
Echo Locum Tenens is a direct affiliate of Sound Physicians, offering priority scheduling ahead of other locum agencies. Enjoy flexible shifts with no minimum requirements, competitive pay, covered travel and lodging, malpractice insurance with tail coverage, and full-service credentialing, logistics, payroll, and licensing support.
Program details:

  • 134-bed facility
  • Open ICU (12 beds)
  • Procedures are required (Intubations, Lines, Vent Management)
  • The general surgery team is great and helps with central lines, thoracentesis, and paracentesis, but the hospitalist needs to be comfortable doing procedures.
  • On a given day there is only one hospitalist and an ER physician in-house. Surgeons are not always present.
  • While in-house, hospitalists are expected to run codes and rapid responses. The ER physician will respond but if they see the hospitalist is in-house, they usually go back down to the ER.
  • Vent management is required. There is no Pulm/Crit care support available at the hospital.
  • EMR: EPIC MedHost
  • IM/FM accepted
  • Active Alabama license and DEA required
  • Expedited privileges offered
