Unlike permanent staff, they are hired for specific assignments that can last from a few weeks to several months. These roles offer flexibility and the opportunity to work in diverse healthcare settings. Locum Surgical Techs assist surgeons during operations by preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. This position is ideal for techs seeking variety in their work environment and experience in different surgical specialties.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a locum contract surgical tech?

To thrive as a Locum Contract Surgical Tech, you need a solid understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (such as CST or NCCT).
