Job Description As a Locksmith in GRAND PRAIRIE, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. The Locksmith is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining locks and security systems, as well as making keys and managing key systems. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $28.37 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM Tue 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM Wed 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM Thur 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM Fri 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM What You'll Do: • Open, repair, install, and reset the combination of locks and safes • Duplicate and fit keys, install, repair, and perform maintenance of various electromechanical locks and safes • Routine maintenance on locking devices, including the replacement of parts as well as the repair and fabrication of parts to ensure the continued security that the locking device provides • Work independently or with others to install and maintain door hardware, including panic hardware, latch bolts, doorknobs, handles, mechanical cipher locks, electric locks, and other related items • Decode and open locks by use of lock picking tools, disassembly, or other methods used to repair worn or broken parts • Work with different key variations such as master, sub-master, and service keys • Establish new key systems within the guidelines of the existing master key chart • Establish high-security key systems for sensitive areas that cannot be duplicated • Maintain classified materials safes and vaults, including changing the combination and drilling of safes due to lost combos or malfunctions • Read and interpret various lock diagrams and blueprints • Set up and operate key duplicating and code machines and their accessories Minimum Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of five (5) years of work experience * Possess, or be able to obtain: * - Professional Locksmith certification * - GSA Authorized Safe and Vault Technician and Inspector certification * Post offer, must be able to obtain a clearance commensurate with site requirements * Post hire, successful completion of Lenel/Software class * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. * Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. * Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. * A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
