Open-Ended Contract Opportunity | Strong Potential for Permanent Hire
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a confidential Houston-based employer to identify an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist for a high-impact opportunity. This role will support complex customer accounts, cash application activities, collections, reconciliations, and month-end processes while helping improve overall AR operations. The client is seeking a resourceful professional who can work independently, troubleshoot account discrepancies, and contribute to process improvements
Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounts receivable activities, including cash application, collections, account maintenance, and reconciliations.
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment variances, deductions, and customer account discrepancies.
  • Review remittance information and ensure payments are accurately matched and applied.
  • Support month-end close activities, reporting, and account analysis.
  • Handle collections, customer inquiries, credit-related activity, and account follow-up.
  • Create and process credits, adjustments, and account corrections as needed.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve account issues and improve processes.
  • Serve as backup support for lockbox processing, wire activity, and cash collections functions.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience with strong exposure to cash application, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Ability to investigate account activity, identify discrepancies, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables; strong reporting and analytical capabilities preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, customer account management, and financial impacts of cash application decisions.
  • Associate's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
