Maintenance Technician - Sterling Heights, Michigan
Contract position - open ended
Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour ($34.00 per hour Journeyman/Licensed)
Shifts Available:

  • First Shift: 6:00am - 2:00pm Monday-Friday, weekends and OT mandatory as scheduled
  • Second Shift 2:00pm - 10:00pm Monday-Friday, weekends and OT mandatory as scheduled


We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, automation systems, and facility systems. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and a solid electrical background in a light industrial manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:

  • Perform a wide range of repairs on manufacturing tools, equipment, machinery, and facility systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues
  • Support production equipment uptime through preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair assembly automation systems and manufacturing production tools
  • Troubleshoot electrical controls, motor controls, drives, VFD drives, relays, contactors, sensors and related systems
  • Perform light fabrication and MIG welding as needed
  • Follow Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures and maintain a safe working environment
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects
  • Maintain maintenance records such as work orders and preventive maintenance and communicate repair status effectively

Required Qualifications & Skills of the Maintenance Technician:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with solid electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with:
    • o Equipment repair
    • o Assembly automation repair
    • o Electrical and pneumatic systems repair
    • o Light fabrication and MIG welding
    • o Manufacturing production tool repair
    • o Electrical controls troubleshooting
    • o Motor controls and drives including VFDs and servo systems
  • ยท Knowledge of Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and basic industrial safety practices
  • ยท Ability to understand electrical schematics


Preferred / Beneficial Skills of the Maintenance Technician:

  • ยท Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Logix 5000 programming
  • ยท Fanuc robot troubleshooting and teaching experience
  • ยท AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) maintenance
  • ยท OEM and/or Tier One manufacturing experience
  • ยท Experience with fastening systems and torque-controlled screw guns
