Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting installation projects, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs involving commercial doors, windows, locks, hardware, garage doors, and related building systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with commercial door systems, hardware installation, repairs, and service work. Candidates with experience in access control systems, electronic locking systems, or security hardware are strongly preferred.

This position will support both scheduled projects and service requests across school, church, and commercial facilities, ensuring safe, secure, and properly functioning building access systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, adjust, and troubleshoot commercial doors, frames, windows, locks, closers, hinges, and related hardware.
  • Participate in new installation projects, renovations, replacements, and repair projects involving doors, windows, and related systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on commercial entry doors, interior doors, exterior doors, and garage doors.
  • Diagnose door, lock, hardware, and operational issues and provide effective repair solutions.
  • Install and maintain door hardware, including panic devices, closers, hinges, handles, locks, and related components.
  • Support access control installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including electronic locks, card readers, door controllers, and related security hardware.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections to ensure proper operation, safety, and security.
  • Respond to service requests and accurately document work performed through work order systems.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, staff, and facility personnel regarding service needs and completed work.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to complete projects efficiently and meet quality expectations.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial door, lock, hardware, window, or related maintenance/installation work.
  • Experience with commercial doors, frames, locks, closers, hardware, and repair procedures.
  • Experience with access control systems is preferred, including electronic locks, card readers, door controllers, or related security systems.
  • Experience with garage doors, automatic operators, or related equipment is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including email communication and work order management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned projects and service calls.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must complete a TBI fingerprint background check to work on school campuses.
  • Must be able to work in a smoke-free campus environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors at various client locations.
  • Requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and working with hand tools.
  • Ability to work in active service environments, including areas with noise and ongoing facility operations.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, tools, and equipment required for installation and repair work.
