About the Role

The Quality Engineering Specialist is responsible for supporting product quality across development, launch, and manufacturing operations. This role emphasizes advanced quality planning, launch readiness, and production support, including APQP execution and structured launch activities, while supporting incountry assembly (ICA) and localization efforts through onsite and remote engagement.

The successful candidate will support monitoring of manufacturing and field quality performance, apply structured problemsolving methods, assist with corrective actions, and work crossfunctionally to support robust launches and sustained production quality.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Quality Manager, as tasked, to address quality assurance process issues and drive issues back to upstream / frontend processes to understand escapes and prevent recurrence
  • Compile and analyze quality performance data, develop graphs, charts and quality reports.
  • Participate/audit/drive QA metrics
  • Lead or support Zero Defect Program (ZDP) activities for assigned areas and/or key metrics
  • Lead or support PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), CAR (Corrective Action Request), and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) processes for both customer and internal quality issues
  • Follow structured problemsolving approaches using 8D, A3, or Six Sigma tools and techniques
  • Coordinate with Production, Operations Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management to conduct product and process failure analysis and support corrective and preventive actions
  • Participate in and support APQP activities throughout the product lifecycle, including development, launch, and postlaunch stabilization
  • Support product launch readiness activities, including participation in launch gate reviews and readiness assessments
  • Apply working knowledge of PPAP requirements and documentation to support launch readiness, supplier engagement, and issue resolution
  • Function as project coordinator or team member, as required, in support of crossfunctional task teams addressing specific quality or launch concerns
  • Investigate internally generated and suppliercaused deficiencies to determine causes, corrective actions, and disposition of defects
  • Prepare reports, corrective action statements, metrics, and supporting documentation for assigned product lines and programs
  • Support containment activities during launch and production, as required
  • Conduct developmental Quality Assurance and process audits
  • Must be able to communicate quality data and status in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings
  • Must be able to create ECR/ECO/PR documentation through Teamcenter
  • Must be able to sign off ECR/CECO/WICI/LOG/RFV documentation through Teamcenter
  • Must be able to use the ERP LN (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
  • Provide regular progress and status reports to management
  • Travel to Service Centers, supplier sites, and incountry assembly locations to support audits, launch activities, issue resolution, and localization efforts

Desired Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to read and write technical reports
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical and customer requirements
  • Ability to research, investigate, and interview to support rootcause analysis
  • Ability to communicate quality data and impact clearly to gain crossfunctional alignment and buyin.
  • Experience supporting APQP, PFMEA, and launchrelated quality activities
  • Knowledge and understanding of PPAP requirements and intent
  • Experience applying structured rootcause methodologies (8D, PFMEA, RCCA)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt designation is an asset
  • Quality Assurance, Auditing, and Investigation experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 processes
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation is an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically across organizations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fastpaced, launchdriven manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working with complex regulated products, defense, or similar environments is highly desired

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management.
    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
    • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
    • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
