Walmart is seeking a Senior Manager, Assortment Insights to lead the mining and development of category assortments and design strategies. This role involves analyzing data to optimize item assortments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and overseeing modular execution accuracy. The position requires identifying strategic opportunities to enhance category performance. The Senior Manager will ensure alignment with overall category strategy while maintaining high standards of integrity and operational excellence to support Walmart’s commitment to delivering value and an exceptional customer experience.
About the team:
The Assortment Insights team develops data-driven assortment strategies to enhance modular and planogram analytics. By analyzing purchasing behavior, clustering models, and localization insights, the team optimizes product flow and space allocation. Collaborating closely with Food Merchandising stakeholders, they ensure assortments evolve strategically to meet business goals. The team emphasizes accountability and data-informed decision-making, supporting category and assortment strategies that enable effective execution and continuous improvement across store clusters. Their work fosters informed decisions aligned with customer needs and operational objectives, driving measurable business impact.
What you'll do:
  • Identify strategic opportunities by analyzing internal and external data, market trends, and competitor insights
  • Develop and inform category modular assortments and merchandising design layouts aligned with overall category strategy.
  • Analyze sales patterns to determine store clusters and customize modular assortments accordingly.
  • Drive execution of business plans by setting priorities, removing obstacles, and measuring performance.
  • Mine insights that deliver a culturally relevant assortment for our shoppers.
