Job description

Meta is seeking a Senior Localization Program Manager to lead the next evolution of localization at Meta: reimagining how our established programs run in the age of AI. As a senior individual contributor, you will drive strategy across multiple product/program lines with significant autonomy and take on the challenges of leveraging AI and automation to run localization programs at a scale, speed and quality not previously possible. You will translate emerging AI capabilities into repeatable, scalable programs - advancing Meta’s mission to connect people across languages and cultures.
Localization Program Manager Responsibilities:
  • Define and evolve localization program strategy across multiple product lines, independently identifying where existing approaches fall short and architecting new models that leverage AI to deliver localization at an unprecedented scale
  • Navigate significant ambiguity in rapidly evolving product and AI landscapes — proactively identifying localization risks, unsolved problems, and whitespace opportunities before they surface, and forming clear plans with minimal direction
  • Shape AI strategy for localization at Meta — establishing best practices for localization of AI-powered features, piloting emerging capabilities, and translating experimental AI tools into repeatable, scalable programs adopted across teams
  • Drive prioritization of localization investment by evaluating business impact across product lines, making strategic trade-offs on where localization delivers the greatest value, and aligning cross-functional partners on priorities and sequencing
  • Build consensus and alignment across broad cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Content Design, Legal, Regional Growth) with competing priorities, influencing roadmaps and investment decisions to drive product team adoption of standardized, AI-powered localization workflows, reducing manual intervention and ensuring localization can support products at scale with a lean operating model
  • Communicate program status, trade-offs, and strategic recommendations clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership across diverse audiences and organizational levels, driving clarity in complex situations through frameworks and structured decision-making
  • Coach and influence peers and partners on modern localization practices, building organizational capability by helping teams internalize how to build internationalization into their products and workflows from the very beginning

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in localization or equivalent program management, internationalization, or international product growth within a technology company
  • Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional localization programs spanning multiple product lines, languages, and regional markets simultaneously
  • Experience in developing and executing localization strategies, including vendor management, quality frameworks, and integration of localization into product development lifecycles
  • Experience using data and program health metrics to drive prioritization decisions and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership
  • Experience independently navigating complex cross-functional dependencies and driving alignment across product, engineering, and content teams
  • Experience applying AI-powered translation technologies or the use of AI to improve efficiency and quality at scale

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting international product growth in emerging or high-complexity language markets, including right-to-left languages or markets with significant linguistic variation
  • Experience building localization center-of-excellence functions or establishing localization standards adopted across a large organization
  • Familiarity with internationalization engineering concepts such as Unicode handling, locale-specific formatting, and string externalization that affect localization feasibility
