Summary

SAP FICO Specialist is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting SAP Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders to ensure financial processes are aligned with SAP capabilities.Responsibilities
  • Own and govern the SAP FICO global template - ensuring design integrity, regional consistency, and controlled localization across all deployments.

  • Personally perform hands-on SAP FICO configuration (50% of role) across GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost Center/Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, COPA, and Banking.

  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture for FICO initiatives - from requirements and fit-gap analysis through design, configuration, testing, and go-live.

  • Oversee AMS operations for the global SAP FICO landscape - managing SLAs, incident/problem/change processes, and continuous service improvement.

  • Drive FICO workstream delivery on major SAP programs - rollouts, upgrades, and transformation projects - in close partnership with PMO and business stakeholders.

  • Architect and review FRICE objects (Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements) in collaboration with technical development teams.

  • Collaborate with the corporate applications team to ensure seamless thirdparty integrations between SAP FICO and systems such as Onstream, Concur, Vertex, and AP- Essentials.

  • Define and drive the SAP FICO roadmap - evaluating S/4HANA capabilities, identifying simplification opportunities, and leading continuous improvement across the finance systems landscape.

  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing process for the SAP FICO team and coordinate with the AMS team to ensure smooth and uninterrupted execution.

  • Identify automation opportunities in the month-end closing process and present them to leadership.

  • Arrange monthly meetings with module leads in AP, AR, GL, and Costing, and collaborate with the shared services team to understand and support their closing processes.

Qualifications
  • 9+ years of SAP S/4 FICO functional experience, with at least 3-4 years in a people management or team lead capacity.

  • Proven track record managing globally distributed SAP FICO teams across multiple time zones and cultures.

  • Deep, hands-on configuration expertise across the full SAP FICO suite: GL/New GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing (CO-PC), COPA, Banking/Treasury.

  • Minimum 3 full end-to-end SAP implementation life cycles with multinational companies, including global template design and multi-country rollout experience.

  • Strong experience with AMS operations, including SLA management, incident/change/problem management, and continuous service improvement.

  • Experience with SAP FICO integration into MM, SD, PP, and PM modules. SAP certification preferred.

  • Strong interest in applying AI (CoPilot, Claude, Cortex) to solve ERP Finance and Controlling problems, driving measurable cost avoidance and revenue generation.
