Description
Overview:
The Local Delivery Driver is a 1st shift role responsible for operating FMCSA-regulated straight trucks to safely and efficiently deliver products to customers and/or Baldor locations. This position involves intra- and interstate deliveries and requires adherence to all DOT, FMCSA, and Company policies while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Deliver up to 12 pallets per route to customer locations and/or Baldor facilities, both intra- and interstate.
โ€ข Safely operate FMCSA-regulated straight trucks in compliance with all DOT and Company regulations.
โ€ข Utilize hand trucks, lift gates, and other material-handling equipment to load and unload pallets at delivery destinations.
โ€ข Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT and Company policies.
โ€ข Accurately document deliveries and obtain customer signatures using electronic Bills of Lading (BOL) in accordance with Company guidelines.
โ€ข Maintain professional communication with customers, dispatch, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
โ€ข Handle products with care to ensure quality and integrity of goods throughout transport and delivery.
Requirements:
โ€ข Valid Driver's License with a minimum of one year driving experience.
โ€ข Experience operating FMCSA-regulated vehicles (preferred).
โ€ข Valid DOT Medical Card.
โ€ข Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English language sufficiently to comply with FMCSA/DOT regulations.
โ€ข Valid driving record with minimal infractions, in accordance to Company policy.
โ€ข Knowledge of products to ensure proper handling and quality control.
โ€ข Strong communication and customer service skills.
โ€ข Ability to follow safety procedures, routes, and delivery instructions accurately.
Schedule:
โ€ข Ability to work up to 6-day work schedule including weekends and holidays.
โ€ข Early start time as early as 4am, based on route and operational needs.
Physical Requirements:
โ€ข Ability to lift, push and pull up to 80lbs,
โ€ข Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
โ€ข Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions without reasonable accommodation.
