Job description

Job Title: Welder Location: Chattanooga, TN Type: Contract To Hire Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0

Overview We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Welder with a minimum of five (5) years of welding and fabrication experience. This position is responsible for performing high-quality TIG and flux core welding on carbon steel and stainless steel pressure boundary and structural components. The ideal candidate will possess strong fabrication skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG and flux core welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and weld pressure boundary and structural components according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, welding procedures, and fabrication documents.
  • Complete welds that meet ASME Section IX and AWS quality requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, integrity, and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
  • Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support shop and field operations as needed.
  • Work overtime as required to meet project schedules and customer commitments.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
  • Proficient in TIG and flux core welding processes.
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel materials.
  • Ability to pass ASME Section IX and AWS X-ray 6G welding qualifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift materials up to 75 pounds as required.
